It is believed that Ignaci “Nacho” Anaya created the original nachos in the city of Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, just across the border from Eagle Pass, Texas. As the word of this new creation traveled, people tried them, loved them and over time, the name changed and Nacho’s “specials” became “special nachos”.
We serve made to order nachos all day - every day!
Friday, November 23 - National Cashew Day!
A favorite snacking and party nut.
The cashew nut is a seed harvested from the cashew tree. Northeastern Brazil was the original native home to the cashew tree. However, it is now widely grown in tropical climates for its cashew apples and nuts.
- The cashew tree has a fruit called the “cashew apple”. Its fragile skin makes it unsuitable for transport.
- The shell of the cashew is toxic!
- Speaking of the shell, the Cashew is not a true nut.
