A Piece Of History

August 14, 2011
We were delighted to have a visit last week from one of the members of the extended Cromer's Family!  Herbert Scott, who at 12-13 years old, sold boiled peanuts on Assembly Street for Cromer's, stopped by to say hi!  He met with Carolette Cromer-Turner and shook hands with all the current Cromer's employees as he shared memories of working for our company.  He recalled working for James Cromer back in the day and remembers working with some of the people who continue to work here today!

The fun part of his visit:  There is a large mural in our store that many of you have seen.  He was one of the people immortalized in the mural!  Painted from several different photographs a few decades ago, Herbert's likeness was used in our painting.  We couldn't resist and just had to get a picture.

It speaks volumes to the new employees when old employees stop in and have such fond memories of working for Cromer's.  It was great meeting Herbert and seeing a piece of walking history right in our store!
